Dr Sione Akauola graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and holds the Australian Medical Council (AMC) Certificate. He also completed a Master of Medicine (MMed) and is a trained GP Anaesthetist.

Dr Akauola is a proficient doctor in Cessnock West with a special interest in Family Medicine, Paediatrics, Geriatric Care, Mental Health, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Women’s Health, including Shared Antenatal Care. He also specialises in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Health and ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat).
