Dr Huiling Li obtained her Bachelor of Medicine at Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences in 1990. She worked as an Associate Lecturer at the Department of Anatomy for four and half years in Jinan University where she also participated in neuroanatomy research. In early 1995, she moved to Auckland, New Zealand and obtained the Bachelor of Nursing. She then worked in Sydney as a registered nurse since 1999 before she passed her Australian Medical Council’s exams and became a Registered Medical Practitioner in Australia since 2005. Dr Li has been practicing in general practice for more than a decade and she spent her first year of family medicine work in Griffith Base Hospital where she also completed one year of surgical training. Subsequently, she became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2011 and worked in Macarthur area for 7 years.Dr Li has special interest in Women’s and Children’s health, Infertility, Travel Medicine, Preventative medicine, and minor Surgical Procedures. Being a dedicated christian as well, Dr Li is passionate about making a difference in one's life through her work.

In the community, Dr Li is also the Chair of the Networking & Family Medicine Subcommittee of the Australian Chinese Medical Association, a professional organization that is formed by registered medical practitioners in NSW. Furthermore, Dr Li is also the inaugural President of the Sun Yet-Sen University of Medical Sciences Sydney Alumni Association. With her strong track record of voluntary work in the community, in 2019, Dr Li was recognized and presented by Mr Mark Coure MP for the St George Community Award in the category of Individual Volunteer Achievement Award. With her exemplary service to the organization, she has also been awarded President Appreciation Award of the Australian Chinese Medical Association in 2019.
