Alvin is of Hong Kong Chinese heritage and was born in Grafton, NSW. After spending his early childhood in Grafton he moved to Brisbane where he graduated from dentistry at the University of Queensland.

Alvin has enjoyed working across both government and private dental clinics in the past. He developed a special interest in Implant Dentistry while training at a Dental Implant center in Brisbane. He has been involved in mentoring other dentists and has taken part in running a number of continuing education courses. When treating patients he believes in a strong focus on preventing disease and providing treatment that aims to give the best possible long-term solution.

Outside of dentistry he enjoys cooking and more importantly eating whenever the opportunity arises. He also enjoys following the NBA and the UFC.
