About Sophia
Sophia is a Registered Psychologist who holds a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, and is currently completing training to become endorsed as a “Clinical Psychologist” with the Psychologist Board of Australia. Sophia is passionate about providing therapy for adults that assists with the navigation of life transitions and distress, rediscovery of meaning and possibility, and reconnection with personal values. She currently consults at BlueSky Psychology on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Sophia has experience providing assessment and therapy services within a range of settings, including community mental health, primary health care and employment services. She has extensive experience working within employment services, providing therapy for individuals experiencing work related injuries, chronic pain, long-term unemployment and stress/burnout. Sophia also treats a range of mental health issues including chronic depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, grief and loss, trauma and substance abuse.
Sophia’s preferred forms of therapy include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She has a particular interest in mindfulness-based and self-compassion approaches.
