About Kate
Kate McNeilly is an experienced psychologist who is passionate about supporting the people she works with. Kate has worked with clients of all ages (4 years – adult) in both public and private sectors. Kate’s commitment to her work is evident in her enthusiasm, energy and empathy with her clients.
Kate has experience with a variety of therapeutic frameworks which enables her to adapt to each individual’s needs. Kate works hard to ensure the counselling space is safe for clients and works collaboratively with them to assist in managing current stressors in their lives. Interventions include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
As we all experience difficulties and personal struggles, Kate believes it is important to view the client as separate from the ‘problem’ and works towards empowering and equipping each client with effective strategies for everyday living. Kate has experience in working with a range of issues, with particular interest in areas of mental health such as depression, anxiety and bipolar, personality disorders, relationship issues, trauma, sexual assault, domestic violence and grief and loss.
