Born in Wales but grew up in Africa from 1945 to 1979 when he arrived in WA. His first job here was a year in the RFDS in Kalgoorlie at the end of which he stayed on as a General Surgeon but decided to switch to General Practice to further his interest in the skills needed to work in that branch medicine. He had completed his medical degree at Cape Town University and then remained on after his final rotation as an intern in Professor Christiaan Barnard’s Heart Surgical Unit.
Personal interests are photography of birds and African wild life. He supports the arts including Ballet, Opera and the WA Symphony Orchestra.
