Dr Kathleen Poon grew up in Brisbane, and graduated as a medical practitioner from the University of Queensland in 2016. Since then, she has worked throughout Queensland including at Rockhampton, Brisbane, Winton, and Kingaroy in a variety of areas including paediatrics, obstetrics and mental health. She has done further study, completing the Sydney Child Health Program (formerly the Diploma of Child Health).

Kathleen is interested in many aspects of general practice, including paediatrics, women's health, chronic disease and skin cancer medicine.

Outside of medicine, Kathleen enjoys playing violin, and spending time with family. She has also been busy exploring the region, since relocating to Cairns.
