Overview
A good surgeon knows their anatomy, explores treatment options other than surgery, takes ownership of patient care, listens carefully, and maintains high case numbers. I pride myself on doing all these things. I allocate thirty minutes to each new appointment (most of my colleagues only allocate 15), I’m actively engaged in research and clinical trials, and I’m an Australian pioneer in transoral robotic surgery. After treating patients for more than twenty years, I believe patients want to know they will receive my close attention throughout their treatment journey, whether that journey takes half an hour or a decade.
I routinely care for patients from across Australia and regional NSW, and travel regularly to the Riverina for patient clinics.
Appointments are allocated according to clinical urgency, which is why I ask to see patient referrals up front, and routinely accept urgent bookings.
Top tip: If you are an adult with a persistent lump on the side of your neck, or persistent earache which cannot be explained, you should insist on further investigations and/or referral.
