About Carolina
Carolina is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). With over 10 years of experience across many different educational settings in her role as a school psychologist in Perth, Carolina is passionate about supporting young children achieve their full potential. Carolina supports parents in their understanding of how emotional, cognitive, academic, social, and behaviour factors impact the learning process.
Problems with learning are often due to a range of factors that may include poor attention and concentration, behaviour, working memory and executive functioning deficits, and learning difficulties. The purpose of a psychoeducational assessment is to determine the cause of the academic problems so that proper interventions can be put in place. Psychoeducational assessments are designed to identify strengths and weaknesses as well as providing an insight of the brain processes – how it learns, stores, recognises, and utilises information within the school setting. They are useful for all students, whether they are gifted, mainstream students or students in need of learning support and Individual Education Plans.
Carolina is interested in and has experience with working with primary school age children in the areas of behaviour and learning difficulties, including screening and assessment of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and professional diagnosis of Specific Learning Disorders (known as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia), Giftedness, and Intellectual Disability.
Carolina works with clients aged 6 - 16 years.
