Matt was born in the UK and moved to Perth in high school years.
He completed his first degree in Physiotherapy at Curtin University, before working in Orthopaedics and Intensive Care. He then moved into medicine, graduating from UWA with Honours in 2014. He has since completed a Masters of Medicine in Critical Care through the University of Sydney.
Matt completed his junior doctor years at Fiona Stanley and Fremantle hospitals before moving away and working in Albany and Broome. He has been back in Perth for just over a year, working in General Practice in Fremantle.
He enjoys all aspects of medicine, with interests in musculoskeletal and sports injuries, men’s health, sexual health, palliative care and paediatrics. He enjoys the challenges of complex medical problems. Matt also has experience in Indigenous medicine, working in the remote Kimberley.
Outside of work, Matt is a big sports fan, particularly Rugby and Cricket. He enjoys hiking and scuba diving, and catching a musical or classical music with his wife.
