Born and educated in Australia, Sommai completed her medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2015, subsequently working at Lyell McEwin Hospital and Modbury Hospital.

Sommai has a Diploma in Child Health and a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine, and participates in the GP Palliative Shared Care Program. She works part time as a consultant with the Northern Adelaide Palliative Services at Modbury Hospital.

Her special interest areas are:

- chronic disease management

- palliative care

- women’s health

- sexual health

- dermatology and skin procedures

As well as these interests, she enjoys all aspects of family medicine and particularly enjoys getting to know her patients, their families and their community.

Out of GP-land, Sommai likes to go hiking, scuba diving, taking her dog for a run and trying out new recipes from different cuisines.
