Sophia has been a Registered Psychologist since 2010 and is currently a Clinical Psychologist (Registrar) after completing a Masters in Clinical Psychology (Curtin University) in 2016. Sophia started her undergraduate studies at UWA and then graduated to a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) with Honours at Murdoch University in 2004. Sophia has been providing mental health support services for over 15 years.
Sophia has experience working across a wide range of presenting issues with clients of all ages. Sophia predominantly specializes and has an interest in the following areas: personality disorders (mostly borderline personality disorder), gender identity, sexuality issues, couples and family therapy, and the spectrum of anxiety and depressive disorders, including bipolar disorder.
Sophia also has extensive experience in adolescent mental health, in the areas of self-harm, and suicide prevention. Sophia has a passion for working with refugees and has worked with offenders. Sophia previously worked within rehabilitation management within the workers compensation sector as well as for the Department of Human Services (Centrelink).
Sophia is a friendly, approachable and non-judgemental person whose goal is to put clients at ease. Sophia understands that clients may initially be apprehensive about seeking support and hopes to make her clients feel comfortable to work through any difficulties they may be facing.
Sophia is able to see clients on a GP referred Mental Health Care Treatment Plan, privately without a referral or you may be able to use your private health care rebates depending on your level and type of cover.
