Lisa Connell is a Psychologist who works with children, adolescents and adults experiencing a very wide range of emotional, behavioural and psychological issues. She is particularly experienced in anxiety.
Lisa is a fully registered psychologist who is client centered, and collaborative in her approach. She believes in the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship, to create a caring, supportive and non-judgmental environment. Lisa’s approach is largely grounded within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy framework, however she also incorporates other evidence based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness.
Lisa has experience with both adults and children in in-patient and out-patient hospital settings, schools, and private organisations. She has experience in conducting clinical assessments, as well as the development and delivery of individual and group interventions for children and adults. Through her Masters’ research Lisa explored the unique challenges facing mothers of premature infants compared to mothers of full-term infants. Lisa works with children, adolescents and adults and her area of interest and experience include anxiety, depression, health anxiety, and perinatal/postnatal depression.
