About Emma

A Clinical Psychologist, Emma Djukic combines a warm and empathetic approach to therapy with a special interest in the treatment of children and adolescents. As a Clinical Psychologist, she has a well established reputation for providing high quality assessment and treatment programs for clients presenting with a wide range of psychological and behavioural issues.

 

Emma works with child, adolescent and adult clients in the following areas:

  • depression and low-mood
  • shyness and social anxiety
  • phobias
  • health anxiety
  • separation anxiety
  • deliberate self-harm
  • low self-esteem
  • bullying
  • school-refusal
  • fussy-eaters
  • anger management
  • perfectionism
  • childhood fears including nightmares and fear of the dark

  • exam stress

 

Emma is also a trained facilitator of the Cool Kids and Chilled Teens anxiety program developed by Macquarie University, and a facilitator for the Circle of Security parenting program. These programs can be delivered as part of a group, and  on an individual basis.

 

Emma believes in the value of a family-oriented approach to the treatment of children and young people and where necessary and appropriate she works with other family members in order to help them support the child or young person experiencing difficulties.

 

In addition to her work with children, Emma has many years of experience in the treatment of adults with general mental health problems such as depression and anxiety disorders, Emma has also considerable experience in the treatment of addictions, including alcohol-use disorders, cannabis and other drugs dependence, smoking cessation and problem gambling.
