Dr Lakmini Basnayaka graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura Faculty of Medical Sciences, Sri Lanka, in 2005. She has been practising medicine for more than 10 years as a general medical practitioner as well as a hospital medical officer covering areas such as emergency medicine, anaesthesia , ICU ,critical care , mental health and paediatric. Dr Lakmini has a special interest in emergency medicine and mental health. She is passionate about her patients’ care, a great listener, and is genuinely concerned about her patient’s well-being. She is an experienced doctor in Cannon Hill who feels that a holistic and preventative approach to healthcare is important. She speaks English and Sinhalese.
