Dr Mehdi Monfared for more than 14 years has worked in GP setting, across different states in Australia. He was awarded his GP fellowship last year and his Emergency Medicine subspecialty 2 years ago from the Royal Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. He also holds a Diploma in Children’s Health from the University of Sydney in 2014 and has completed a scholarship program with the state of NSW Health and Education and Training Institute (HETI) in Clinical Team Leadership Program (CTLP) in 2015. Mehdi has a strong interest in educating junior doctors and medical students and is a lecturer with University of New South Wales and University of Wollongong. He has extensive experience, in skin cancer management, mental health, Emergency Medicine, paediatrics, looking after orthopaedic and trauma patients. This has given him a wealth of knowledge to look after his patients with chronic diseases. He emphasises on holistic approach and wellbeing of his patients and is interested in the care of patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, osteoarthritis, asthma and COPD, orthopaedics, trauma and work injuries, as well as mental health. He is also very confident in managing work-place injuries and performing pre-employment medicals and has extensive knowledge of how to manage skin lesions, skin cancers and melanomas.
