Janet Gallagher is a Clinical Psychologist. Janet is available for appointments at the Clear Health Psychology Mount Lawley practice.
Janet works from a strength-based perspective, working alongside individuals, couples and families to achieve their goals and work towards wellbeing. Janet specialises in working with children and adolescents, the areas of anxiety, depression, challenging behaviours, self-esteem, bonding and attachment difficulty, trauma and abuse, post-traumatic stress, parental separation and divorce. With adults, in working with depression and anxiety, personality disorders, parenting support (PPP, Circle of security, attachment parenting), trauma and abuse and adjusting to life change.
She has been trained in several evidence based therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Focused CBT, Schema Therapy and many other Psychotherapy models.
Clinical experience and background
Janet obtained her Honours in Psychology with Human Resource Management at Middlesex University in the UK and Masters in Clinical Psychology at Edith Cowan University. Janet has a number of years’ experience working in private practice and in children and family services. Whilst most of Janet’s experience has been working with at risk children and families, focusing on childhood trauma and abuse, Janet also has experience working in many other fields of psychology across the lifespan. Janet continues to be involved in research that is involved with Children in Out of Home Care, specifically kinship care.
Janet runs her own independent practice and engages Clear Health Psychology to provide administrative and other business services to enable her to provide assessment and treatment to her clients. Appointments are for 51 minutes at a rate of $300 and can attract a Medicare rebate with a Mental Health Care Plan.
Appointments are precious and we appreciate you giving at least 24 hours notice if you can’t attend, otherwise 50% of the full fee will apply with no Medicare rebate.
