Dr Amali Navaratna is a practicing GP in the hills district of Western Sydney. She is keenly interested in providing holistic care for her patients and managing chronic diseases. She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and holds certification from the Australian Medical Council (AMC). She is also an accredited Fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).
Amali has treated several patients with Diabetes, Prediabetes and Gestational Diabetes throughout her career. She became interested in this field and realised that her interest is an important one after getting The Western Sydney diabetes initiative to enhance the skills and experience of the local GPs.
Dr Navaratna is a compassionate doctor in The Ponds who works collaboratively with the patients to provide an unrivalled level of care. She received vital new information and therapeutic updates on the management of Diabetes in the community while working as a GP VMO in the multidisciplinary team at Mt Druitt Clinic. She believes that it is a great opportunity to help gain knowledge, skills and confidence to manage patients with complex diabetes. Through this approach, the burden on the public health system can also be relieved.
Amali is a bilingual doctor and is able to converse in English and Sinhalese.
