Margaret’s PhD was completed in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Queensland, titled Mothers’ depression and disruptive child behaviour. This research contributed to development of Triple P, an internationally recognized program for helping families manage their children’s behaviour.
Margaret has worked in education, health and private practice. She is a registered teacher and psychologist with endorsement in educational and developmental psychology.
For many years she worked as guidance officer and senior guidance officer in Queensland, South Australia and New Zealand. She has also worked in research and development positions in education and disability, playing a major role in development of the Education Adjustment Profile, now used in Queensland schools.
She also spent three years as Senior Educational and Developmental Psychologist at the Adolescent Mental Health Unit, Royal Brisbane Hospital. This position led to her on-going interest in helping young people manage their educational concerns after the experience of a mental illness.
Margaret offers a range of therapies, psychometric and psycho-educational evaluations, and training for working memory (Cogmed) for children, young people and adults.
