Dr Michael Hickey studied and graduated at the University of Queensland in 1976 with MBBS; he then continued to do residency at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane.

In 1982 Dr Hickey commenced general practice with visiting rights to the Mater Hospital in Townsville and worked as a VMO at the Townsville General Hospital from 1982 – 1984.

Dr Hickey’s special interests include; tropical medicine, aviation medicine and family medicine.
