Diana is a Clinical Psychologist, who moved from South Australia to Western Australia in 2021. She completed her undergraduate training in Colombia, South America and moved to Australia in 2009 to complete post-graduate studies. She was accredited as a psychologist in Australia in 2013 and she completed her Master of Psychology (Clinical) in 2016 at the University of South Australia. She also holds post graduate qualifications (PhD in Psychology) in paediatric sleep research.
Diana has experience working with adults, adolescents, young adults, and their families/carers delivering psychological interventions. Diana also has experience working with both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Non-Aboriginal clients.
She has recently trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), with a special focus in youth. She is passionate about working with young people and their families. This passion and her training have led her to work closely with youth and parents to assist with reducing family conflict and in turn, reduce suffering and build a life worth living.
Since October 2020. Diana has been facilitating Adolescent-Parent DBT groups within a Youth service in Adelaide, which was the only first of its kind in the state. Diana has witnessed life changing results with extremely positive feedback from both the young person and parents/carers involved in the program.
Diana has a special interest in youth wellbeing, and she hopes to increase the accessibility to similar therapeutic services for other young people and their families.
Diana has experience working with individuals whose lives have been impacted by a variety of psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders (including borderline personality disorder), disordered eating, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, and sleep disorders.
Diana primarily draws upon Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy (ST). She has also been involved in group ST trials for people with eating disorders and personality disorders.
Diana has worked with various organisations in South Australia. Diana has worked in public youth mental health, Aboriginal-Controlled organisations, department for Child Protection and private practice.
