Hamish Anderson graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1995. After graduating, he worked in New York, and it was here over the next 5 years that he developed his focus on the management of hand injuries. In 2001 he qualified as a Certified Hand Therapist, which is the highest international recognition of hand therapy skills available.
