About Vanessa

Registered Psychologist

Vanessa is passionate about ensuring people feel respected, heard, and valued. Her personal approach to counselling is to engage with compassion and curiosity, to provide a warm and non-judgmental environment, and to create a safe place to collaboratively explore the client’s story, difficulties, and goals for therapy.

Vanessa is a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner’s Agency (AHPRA) and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Vanessa has over 8 years experience counselling people of varying ages. She has worked in public and private practice, school settings (primary & high), and the disability sector. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Honours from Edith Cowan University and a Graduate Diploma of Education (School Psychology) from the University of Western Australia.

Vanessa uses a strengths-based framework and evidence based clinical practice to help clients gain insight, learn strategies to build capacity, and to break free from patterns of behaviour and thinking that impede their social, emotional, and relational wellbeing. Vanessa works with adults (18 years old+).

Vanessa’s main therapeutic approaches, are age relevant, and draw from elements of:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
  • Schema Therapy (ST)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Appointment duration:  51 minutes

Sessions rates:

Individuals: $210.00 per appointment

Medicare rebate is available with a Mental Health Care Plan for individual appointments.

Cancellation Policy: Appointments are precious, and we appreciate you giving at least 24 hours’ notice if you cannot attend. For cancellations under 24 hours, 50% of the session rate will apply with no Medicare rebate.

Please note: Vanessa does not accept appointments for clients under the age of 18 years old, couples or family sessions.
