Overview
Dr Chellaboina (prefers to be called as Vik) has over 20 years experience as a doctor. Originally from India – Vik speaks Telugu and bit of Hindi in addition to English. Vik graduated in 2000 from university in India, and started his Emergency medical specialist training in the UK in 2003 then moved to Australia in 2006 to continue his emergency department work in Adelaide hospitals.
After arriving in Adelaide he attained an Advanced Diploma in Emergency Medicine. During his specialist GP training Vik worked in the country including Victor Harbor, Quorn and for the Port Augusta Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) where he had invaluable experience in primary health care. While he continues to work in the country as an emergency medicine Rural Generalist, he is a passionate GP with special interests in procedures and chronic disease management. Vik is also keen on providing medical education via the rural stream to medical students at Victor Harbor.
Vik is married and has a daughter. He is friendly, and spends his leisure time kayaking and hanging out with friends.
