About Merieke
Merieke is a highly experienced and compassionate Registered psychologist, holding a Master of Applied Psychology (Professional). She has over 15 years of experience working in the Mental Health Sector. She also has over a decade of dedicated service in the Family and Domestic Violence Field.
Merieke provides therapy from a range of therapeutic approaches and has a holistic approach. She combines knowledge of the mind (psychology) with somatic practice (body) and family systems.
Merieke's approach to her work is characterised by her ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively, using visual tools and real-life scenarios. She combines warmth and playfulness with a strong moral compass, always striving to say what needs to be heard rather than what people want to hear.
She has experience facilitating Men Behaviour Change Programs and the Caring Dads program. Aimed at addressing abusive behaviours towards their partner, children and/or other family members. And where possible, rebuild healthy connections. Additionally, she is a licensed Protective behaviour facilitator, working with young people exposed to sexual abuse.
Service is provided to children 6+, adults, couples and families. All support is trauma-informed and culturally sensitive.
