Overview
Tessa is a registered Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA and is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).
Tessa has a special interest in children and adolescent psychology, working with clients under the age of 18 years. Tessa has experience treating anxiety disorders, depression, adjustment concerns, eating disorders, substance use, sleep difficulties, complex trauma, self-harm, and thoughts of suicide. Her treatment approaches are drawn from current best-practice research and are tailored to the age of the client. Tessa has completed training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). She has an open and genuine approach in working with her clients.
Clinical Experience and Background
Tessa graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and Master of Psychology (Clinical). Previously, Tessa has facilitated group therapy in adult inpatient hospital settings. Tessa has worked across a range of services related to child and adolescent health, including school psychology, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), private practice settings, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnostic teams. Tessa has had previous experience working as a University tutor in psychology, statistical and dementia studies, and has conducted research in Electroencephalography (EEG) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
