Overview
Jamie completed his studies at Curtin University in Western Australia, at the same time working in the public sector, for an after-hours crisis response service. As part of his Masters degree Jamie conducted research into coping and burnout experienced by Child Protection Workers.
Jamie has worked in a range of therapeutic settings that included a focus on addiction and domestic violence. For nearly a decade Jamie worked within the welfare sector, providing support and assistance to vulnerable and at-risk clients.
Existentialism and Ontology inform Jamie’s therapeutic approach. His gentle and empathic style encourages the trust and emotional safety that are vital to all good psycho-therapeutic processes. Jamie is particularly interested in the neurobiological basis of childhood trauma and attachment, and working with adults to manage chronic conditions.
