Registered Psychologist

PJ is a warm and compassionate therapist who believes in an empathetic approach when working with clients. PJ offers a safe, respectful and nurturing space for individuals, couples and families from a variety of cultural backgrounds to explore their concerns.

PJ is aware that therapy can be a scary step to take, and she attempts to ease these concerns through a relaxed, flexible and humorous approach. Her work is guided by a simple mantra – “Be a helping hand to assist others to make the genuine and enduring change they desire.”

Change often seems difficult to achieve, but PJ welcomes the opportunity to walk alongside her clients to assist them to manage their challenges, develop their self confidence and recognise their capacity to achieve their desired results.

PJ will provide a foundation for you to explore your own ideologies, relationships and approach to life, whilst also introducing gentle challenging and new perspectives to encourage both growth and empowerment.

Some of the issues that PJ works with include, but are not limited to:

  • Self-harm and suicide
  • Trauma and abuse (PTSD)
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Attachment-based difficulties
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Grief and Loss
  • Identity formation
  • Working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Family of origin issues

  • Emotional Regulation and management

PJ utilises a range of treatment approaches, including:

  • Narrative Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MCBT)
