About Bhargavi (Aavi)

Psychologist

BSc Psych (Extended Major), BPsych Hons, MPsych Prof, MAAPi

Hi, I am Aavi and I support high-functioning individuals navigating complex mental health concerns to stop white-knuckling their way through life, so they can live, not just perform in their professional and personal life.

Professionally, I have been a psychologist for over 6 years and have worked across schools, children's hospital and adult private hospitals in Melbourne; remote communities and youth mental health in Hobart and now in private practice in Perth.

I offer:

1) Short-term solution-focused therapies for 3 to 10 sessions, incorporating Single Session Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, DBT and ACT, so you can build skills to manage what is important today without digging up the past.

2) Long-term therapies for 10+ sessions, incorporating EMDR, Schema Therapy and Internal Family Systems, to manage complex trauma, chronic feelings of emptiness, low self-worth, phobias, and identity struggle.

3) Diagnostic clarification for 6-10 sessions, which involves assessments, clinical interview and diagnostic report inclusive of treatment recommendations and self-help resources.

I accept EAP, Medicare( MHCP), Private and WorkCover referrals for individuals above 12 years of age.

As a first-generation immigrant myself, I also work closely with culturally and linguistically diverse clients navigating identity, family expectations, and the experience of living between the cultures. I offer therapy in Hindi, Gujarati and Hinglish alongside English, both online and in-person in Perth, WA.

In my personal life, I am mum to a toddler who can't function without her coffee, home IKEA furniture assembler, and an amateur chef and painter- in that order.

My fees are - $250 for standard hours and $280 for after hours.

You can book to see me via a telehealth or in- person appointment from healthengine or email info@psychealth.com.au for more information.
