Overview
Sally is a clinical psychologist with over 11 years’ experience working in the field of psychology. She works to create a collaborative relationship with her clients based on trust and mutual respect. Her hope is that clients feel supported, listened to and understood. Sally strives to assist her clients compassionately explore and understand their past and current challenges, while supporting their progress towards their personal goals.
Her experience encompasses working with adults and young people with a range of difficulties including Mood Disorders (Depression and Bipolar Disorder), Anxiety Disorders, trauma, drug and alcohol problems, addiction, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and adjustment difficulties, self-esteem problems, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, parenting difficulties and counselling for personal growth. Please note that Sally does not offer court assessments.
Sally has training and experience in delivering evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy, among other psychotherapeutic frameworks.
Her previous clinical appointments have included public mental health, sub-acute and rehabilitation facilities, and private practice.
Sally has published research on the characteristics of mental health recovery model implementation in the Journal of Mental Health Training, Education and Practice (2018).
She is a member of The Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and a Member of The Australian Clinical Psychology Association (MACPA). She is a Board Approved Supervisor.
