A registered psychologist with qualifications in nutrition, Leanda has a balanced view of what clients need. Four years of doctoral research on a chronic health condition has also given her valuable experience when it comes to dealing with clients in rehabilitation.
Previous experience in the rehabilitation sector has allowed her to work with clients dealing with problems such as depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), domestic violence, substance abuse, eating disorders/body dysmorphia, gender issues and, chronic pain. Previous research into grief means she can provide specialised assistance to people experiencing loss. Although fully conversant in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Leanda utilises advanced training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and more recent qualifications in Interpersonal Therapy to match each client’s requirements. Adolescents to the elderly are catered for in addition to couples. It’s Leanda’s aim to help empower people to make positive changes to their life.
