Overview

Amanda is the Director of Armchair Psychology. Establishing the practice in 1989, her extensive experience helping clients with a range of psychological issues has made her an expert, endorsed as a specialist in both Clinical and Health Psychology.

One of Australia’s best known Psychologists, with over twenty years of experience in the media, she was a weekly contributor to the ABC’s Late Night Psychologist national program from 1989 to 2001.

Amanda is a peer reviewer for the N.S.W. Health Care Complaints Commission and is also the past President of the Australian Psychological Society, the peak professional body representing over 20000 psychologists nationally. Alongside this, Amanda is a long-standing member of the College of Clinical Psychologists, and a previous member of the National Committee of the College. 

Amanda has experience counselling children and adolescents, often with their families, as well as couples and individuals about a range of issues including relationships, anger management, physical health and chronic illness, anxiety and depression.
