I am Alycia and I am the newest addition to the team at Right Step Podiatry.
I moved from Malaysia with my immediate family in 2011 and have been in Perth ever since. English is considered my first language, but I can still speak conversational-level Mandarin.
I recently graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree. Prior to completing my DPM degree, I completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences degree, majoring in Medical Sciences. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of a profession that can be challenging, but also incredibly rewarding.
The most significant learning experience I had throughout my degree was my experience within the Great Southern region, especially in Albany. Prior to graduating, I had the opportunity to work as a podiatry assistant for 5 weeks as well as complete my final 6-week block of placements there and was exposed to all aspects of podiatry. I am particularly interested in musculoskeletal pathologies, biomechanics, orthotic therapy, as well as diabetic foot care.
During my time off, I enjoy reading, completing 1000-piece puzzles, attending workout classes as well as exploring new places to have brunch.
