Phoebe Hinds

Phoebe continues her role with First in Feet Podiatry for 2020 after joining the team upon graduating from QUT in 2018 with her Bachelor of Podiatry degree.

“Over this first year I have been able to develop my skills and confidence in a diverse range of patient types including general nail care, Diabetes assessment, biomechanical and sports podiatry, orthotic prescription and ingrown nail surgery.

Previous to full time work in podiatry I studied for a year at Sheridan College Wyoming USA where I was a student athlete on scholarship for basketball. Basketball was always a passion of mine growing up, and I was lucky enough to be involved in teams at a junior, senior and state level in Queensland.

I initially was drawn towards podiatry due to my family and myself struggling with foot related problems. After commencing my study and work in podiatry I became more interested in how podiatrists are able to solve a variety of foot problems whether through orthoses, soft tissue therapies of other means.

My first year at First in Feet Podiatry has also allowed me to develop these skills as I now have qualifications in “hands-on” therapies including Dry Needling and Soft Tissue Mobilization.

This past year I have enjoyed meeting and interacting with a wide range of patients, and am looking forward to continue to do so in 2020. It has been a pleasure in assisting and seeing the impact that I have as a podiatrist on the health and wellbeing of those in the community.

My special interests within podiatry include Diabetes foot care and assessment and orthotic design and prescription”.
