Genesis Physiotherapy in Wembley was established 23 years ago and has had a close association with the maternity wards at St John of God Hospital since its inception. Their focus is to provide a comprehensive service in womens health which is enhanced by a more recent association with Babysteps Health Centre. Being at the centre, their team are able to complement their services with in-house support of other women & child health professionals. 

Genesis physiotherapy was first registered in 1993 and Cheryl Bryce has remained the principal physiotherapist since its inception. It has always been a practice that specialises in women’s health, continence and sexual pain syndromes. Their experienced team take pride in offering a consistent seven-day service with a focus on progressive and prompt treatment. All staff have had long term experience in women’s health and continence and have had a grand total of 17 children between them. Keeping up to date and progressive is a natural goal for these staff, who are completing or already have completed specialist training. As well as a knowledge base, the team offer Pilates, real-time ultrasound, laser therapy and EMG biofeedback.

Genesis Physiotherapy in Wembley offers a range of programs focused on womens health. Treatment available in pregnancy include support with back/pelvic pain, pelvic floor advice and management, and exercise advice and prescription, as well as support with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Postnatal care includes support wit painful perineal wounds, Mastitis (blocked milk ducts), cracked nipples, back/pelvic pain, neck/shoulder pain, wrist/thumb pain, pelvic floor assessments, bladder/ bowel problems and sexual pain. The team also provide recovery exercise advice.

General care provided includes treatment for female bladder/bowel problems, male bladder/bowel problems, female sexual/pelvic pain syndromes and male pelvic pain syndromes. DVA cardholders are welcome.

Local areas include Wembley Downs, Subiaco, Leederville, Floreat, Claremont, North Perth, Dalkeith, East Perth and City Beach.
