Overview
Robbie was born and spent his early childhood in Zimbabwe, before he moved to Perth with his family in 2008. After completing his secondary education at Hale School, Robbie studied at the University of Notre Dame where he graduated with a double degree in Bachelor of Physiotherapy/Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science.
He has always lived an active and sporty lifestyle which has led him to a career in Physiotherapy. Having sustained a few rugby-related injuries in the past, Robbie is aware of the impact that a physiotherapist can have in not only returning a patient to their pre-injury level, but exceeding it. Robbie aims to do just that with his friendly nature and his evidenced-based physiotherapy skills and knowledge.
Robbie has spent time working in both acute and chronic hospital settings. He has had experience treating patients in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), orthopaedic wards, stroke rehabilitation as well as musculoskeletal out-patients in the country town of Collie. Robbie has also tailored multiple exercise programmes for his patients to improve their strength, mobility, speed and fitness. His areas of clinical interest include lower back pain, shoulder injuries, ankle injuries and return to sport programmes.
Robbie currently plays premier grade rugby for Associates Rugby Union Club. Outside of sport, Robbie enjoys spending his time with friends, going to the beach, fishing and relaxing with his family and dog. Robbie has aspirations to complete his Masters of Physiotherapy in the coming years, as well as doing some volunteer work for the organisation called ‘Mercy Ships’, that provide surgery and rehabilitation to people living in extreme poverty.
