Miss Alana Murrihy

Prior to beginning her Physiotherapy career, Alana worked in the health, fitness and sporting industry for over 7 years, including roles as an Allied Health Assistant, Exercise Scientist and Sports Trainer. She completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science with a focus on exercise rehabilitation prior to undertaking a degree in Physiotherapy at Monash University, where she graduated with Honours in 2017.

Alana has a passion for continual learning, having completed further studies in Pilates and Sports Taping. She tailors each treatment to the individual patient, and utilises a combination of soft tissue techniques and joint mobilisation, combined with specific exercise prescription, to better the outcomes for her patients.

Having competed at a national level in Track and Field Athletics, Alana uses these experiences in the sporting setting the help better understand her patients and athletes. Having dealt with many musculoskeletal injuries during this time herself, she is caring, compassionate, and understands the toll injuries and rehabilitation can have on all aspects of health and wellbeing.

Alana enjoys treating all members of the community, with a special interest in athletes of all sports and abilities. Alana’s other passions include running, surfing, travelling and taking her dog for long walks.
