Dr Ross Gurgo
Dr Ross Gurgo (MBBS FRACS CIME) is the medical director of Q Brain & Spine.
Dr Ross Gurgo is a specialist neurosurgeon who manages all conditions of the brain and spine. Born in Queensland, he completed his medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Queensland and undertook neurosurgical training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney (FRACS).
He undertook advanced training in complex spinal surgery in Toronto, Canada in one of the largest spinal units in North America (AO Spine accredited). On returning to Brisbane in mid-2005 he was appointed a Visiting Medical Officer, Specialist Neurosurgeon, at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, and at the same time maintained a private neurosurgical practice. His main area of surgical interest is management of complex disorders of the spine. He also has a strong interest in medicolegal work and has CIME (ABIME) accreditation, is an accredited WorkCover Qld & NSW IME & Comcare PI Assessor & has MAA (NSW) and TAC (Vic) accreditation.
He continues to advance his skills in all aspects of neurosurgery and is currently in full time private practice with all surgery being performed at the Brisbane Private Hospital. He is a member of the Australian Medical Association, Neurosurgical Society of Australasia, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Medicolegal Society of Queensland.
