The Western Medical Centre

We opened our doors in 1995 with a desireto provide personalised, high-quality care to the people of the inner western suburbs of Melbourne. We have patients from Yarraville, Kingsville, Seddon, Footscray, Spotswood, Newport, Williamstown, Altona, Port Melbourneand throughout the Western and North Western suburbs of Melbourne.

We are an AGPAL accredited practice.All our General Practitioners are vocationally registered and Fellows of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

The Western Medical Centre is located in Yarraville, an inner western suburb of Melbourne, on the corner of Somerville and Williamstown Rds.

The clinic runs by appointments Monday to Friday and as an emergency drop in clinic on Saturday.

The Western Medical Centre is a privately billing general practice.

We cater for patients of all ages and offer a wide range of GP services including share care antenatal care, psychotherapy and minor procedures.

The Western Medical Centre currently has 10 General Practitioners with a number of special interests including family medicine, paediatrics, adolescent health, women’s health, preventative and men’s health, dermatology, travel health, musculoskeletal and sports medicine, chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, psychotherapy, family planning, sexual health and share care obstetrics.

Dr Gretel Heitbaum, Dr Khueenie Cheong, Dr Christine Longman and Dr Jessica Wrigley are share care obstetric affiliates with the Royal Women’s Hospital, Sunshine Hospital and Mercy Hospitals (Werribee and Heidelberg) providing antenatal care.

The Western Medical Centre has been accredited by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners as a training practice since 1997. We have been selected by MCCC, a Training Provider of General Practice training, to provide formal training for fully qualified doctors choosing to follow a career in General Practice.
