From its base at 23 Lennox Street, Richmond, North Richmond Community Health Centre has been providing quality community health services since 1974, not only to the culturally and linguistically diverse community of North Richmond but also to people across the city of Yarra, greater Melbourne and communities in rural and remote areas of Victoria. The Medical team at North Richmond Community Health Centre is committed to providing the highest standard of general medical care to all patients, including non-English speaking patients who require interpreters. The Medical Service undergoes regular accreditation processes. All patients holding a valid Medicare card are bulk billed. Patients without a valid Medicare card pay $50 for a standard consultation or $80 for a long consultation. Opening hours are 9am to 5pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 9am to 8pm on Tuesday and Thursday. On-site parking is available and magazines and health information brochures are provided in the waiting room for patients to peruse while waiting. Our Nursing and Allied Health team provides many different health services, with an emphasis on direct care and health promotion. It includes: Women’s Health Nurse and Community Midwife Community Health Nurse Credentialed Diabetes Nurse Educator Dietician Occupational therapist Speech pathologist. The Women’s Health Nurse can provide women with pregnancy testing and referrals, pap tests and information on emergency and general contraception. Our Community Midwife is an accredited Shared Maternity Care provider with the Royal Women’s Hospital. Community Health Nurses at North Richmond Community Health provide the following clinical nursing services: Immunisations Injury assessment Wound care Triaging Adult pathology Electrocardiogram Health assessment and monitoring Health promotion and disease prevention Home visits for people who are unable to attend the clinic due to injury or serious illness Emergency presentations Follow-up post-GP treatment, if required. Our Credentialed Diabetes Nurse Educator can help you understand diabetes and manage it in ways that best suit your life and personal preferences. Our Nutrition and Dietetics Service helps people achieve their health goals by learning about good nutrition and diet. At North Richmond Community Health, our Occupational Therapist works with adults with disabilities and frail elderly people to develop strategies to cope with daily demands and adapt to everyday tasks. Speech Pathology services are available for pre-school children with specific speech and language difficulties. The Oral Health Program provides dental services at North Richmond Community Health.
