Blue Shield Family General Practice is an accredited teaching practice through RACGP. We are a well-established practice since 2005. Full time and part time VR GP and GP registrars are part of our team. The principal of the practice is an accredited Clinical Teacher with the Discipline of General Practice, University of Sydney.

Please be advised of our practice policy for new patients, that we do not prescribe Benzodiazepines and Opiates to new patients without corroborative history from their specialist and previous local medical officer. Thank you.

As a bulk billing practice, we offer bulk billing to all patients holding a valid Medicare card for all Medicare-eligible procedures. This means no out-of-pocket cost for most general consultations.

We are located with close proximity of St George Public & Private Hospitals. Our location is easily accessible to those who live or work in Carlton, Allawah, Hurstville, Bexley, Rockdale, Brighton Le Sands, Kogarah Bay and Ramsgate.

For newborn and 1st year immunisations, please book between 9am-5pm as observation is needed after the vaccination. This is safer for your baby.

Dear patients,

Please be advised that due to the current economic climate with Medicare rebates not substantially indexed for the past 30 years it is no longer financially viable to bulk bill all patients at all times.

From 1 September 2023, all consultations with Dr Ata Kichkin, Dr James Kolb and Dr Pala will incur private fees except for:

· Patients with pensioner’s card

· Patients with health care card

· Patients under disability pension

· Commonwealth Senior Card

· Patients under 16 years old

· Patients with pressing financial circumstances. Please discuss billing with your doctor, and we are willing to accommodate.

For this above matter, please present your health care card/pension card so we can continue to bulk bill you.

Dr Kichkin will personally inform her long-term patients with complex and chronic medical conditions about the coming fees.
