Dr Richard Murphy

Dr Richard Murphy graduated from The University of Western Australia and undertook training as a rural procedural General Practitioner with interests in anaesthetics, paediatrics and obstetrics. After working in Somerset, Kalgoorlie and Perth he completed specialist obstetrics and gynaecology training in Western Australia, based at King Edward Memorial Hospital. This included a Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine, based at Fertility Specialists WA.

His interests cover the spectrum of reproductive care, from preconception counselling, sub fertility, miscarriage and perinatal loss through to antenatal care, delivery and postnatal care. Gynaecological interests include complex hysteroscopic surgery, colposcopy and laparoscopy.

Dr Murphy’s obstetric practice is based at St John of God Subiaco Hospital, where the facilities enable him to practice at the highest level. As a sessional consultant at King Edward Memorial Hospital he can provide continuing care to very preterm pregnancies if required. Additionally he operates at Bethesda and South Perth Hospital and provides fertility consultation and treatment at Fertility Specialists South in Applecross.

Dr Murphy does not charge a gap for gynaecological surgery.
