Dr Laith Aswad was born in Iraq and completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Baghdad University. He has been practicing dentistry since 2005 and has worked at LifeCare dental for more than 3 years.

Laith believes that a healthy smile is essential for a healthy life and that oral and dental health is important to the overall health and wellbeing of all individuals. His previous experience in private practice has given him the opportunity to enjoy all aspects of dentistry. However, he has a special interest in endodontics and surgery and is considering furthering his education focussing on dental Implants.

Dr Joanne Berry attended Perth College Anglican School for Girls and has worked at LifeCare Dental since 2000. Joanne wanted to be sure that another five years of study would land her in her dream job so she began her career at LifeCare as a Dental Nurse and continued in this role until she qualified as a Dentist in 2007. Joanne believes that dentistry is a creative mixture of art and science and the stimulation of not knowing how her day will progress or who she will meet is what she loves about her job.

Dr Kavindu Caldera has been working at LifeCare Dental for 4 years. Initially he started as a dental assistant to the principal dentist Alex, before completing his dental degree in 2011 at the University of Western Australia. He has attended numerous courses since graduation including those with the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry.

Kav is one of the most relaxed and approachable dentists on our team and is efficient in all aspects of patient care including but not limited to implants, root canal treatment and cosmetic dentistry. He is the resident sports lover, speaks Sinhala and prides himself on his time management ensuring you won’t be twiddling your thumbs in the waiting room!

Dr Tina Choo completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Western Australia in 2002, and worked in general practice before undertaking three years Full-time Specialist post-graduate training (Doctor of Clinical Dentistry) at the University of Adelaide under Professor Mark Bartold in 2008. Following this, she returned to work in the communities of Perth and Kalgoorlie as a specialist periodontist since 2011.

In addition to clinical practice as a periodontist, Dr Choo enjoys lecturing and tutoring Dentistry students and periodontal Post-graduate students in Periodontics at the School of Dentistry at UWA (Oral Health Centre of Western Australia) since 2011. She presents lectures on periodontics and dental implants to students and dentists both locally and interstate. Dr Choo has a keen interest in the field of bone regeneration and her research has been published in a respected international journal. In 2004, I obtained my Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. Since then, I worked as a private dental practitioner in Singapore and Perth. I worked at few other private dental clinics before joining Stirling Street Dental Clinic. I enjoy all aspects of dentistry, in particular seeing children for their dental needs. I always strive to provide a high standard of dental care to all my patients in a gentle and relaxed environment.

I am committed to attending Continuing Professional Development to keep up with the latest innovations in dentistry, ensuring I can give the best level of care to my patients. Recently I have just completed Graduate Diploma in Dental Sleep Medicine at the University of Western Australia. Dr Negar Darabi graduated from Beheshti University in Tehran, Iran and has been practicing dentistry for 12 years. She has been tutoring at The University of Western Australia’s Dental School since 2007 and has worked at LifeCare Dental since 2008.

Negar is passionate about her job and enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially when she helps put a smile on a patient’s face. Her main goal is to have her patients leave our surgery happier and healthier than when they entered. She believes that her love of dentistry may have come from her father, who is also a dentist.

Dr Michiel de Beer was born in South Africa but moved to Australia in 2001 and was raised in Mandurah. From a young age, Michiel was always interested in dentistry and completed his Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) and Doctor of Dental Medicine degrees at the University of Western Australia.

Michiel has a compassionate and empathetic personality and takes great pride in patient communication, building good rapport and developing professional relationships with his patients. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but has a special interest for crown and bridge, preventative dentistry and oral surgery. Michiel is registered with the Australian Dental Board, is a member of the Australian Dental Association and frequently attends continual professional development courses to expand his dental knowledge.

Dr Christina DePiazzi graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Western Australia. She was born and raised in Perth and attended Penrhos College prior to studying dentistry.

Christina chose dentistry because as a child she had very crooked teeth, and ever since having braces she has been passionate about creating beautiful bright smiles. She is a strong believer that a smile is the best accessory anyone can wear!

Dr Hoda Foroughi is the principal dentist at Tuart Hill Dental. She is an experienced and highly skilled dentist who is well regarded for her professionalism and gentle approach towards all patients. Dr Furlan graduated from UWA in 1994.She has worked in several private practices in Perth including her own from 1998 to 2003.

DR Furlan has received extensive training in cosmetic and implant dentistry in California with DR Cherylin Sheets and in Melbourne with DR Derry Rogers.

Dr Lucy Ge is a caring and gentle dentist whose aim is to provide quality dental care to patients from all walks of life. Lucy was born in Beijing, but was raised in Perth and obtained her qualification from the University of Western Australia, graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Science.

Lucy is interested in all areas of dentistry, including but not limited to oral surgery/wisdom extractions, root canal therapy, crown and bridge and preventive dentistry/establishment of sound oral health habits. She also works in close cooperation with dental anaesthetists and is happy to facilitate treatment under sedation (sleep) for those who are extra nervous.

Dr Bayan Habibi is an approachable and enthusiastic dentist who completed his Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours from the University of Western Australia. He has been practicing dentistry for two years and has worked at LifeCare Dental for the past 12 months. He has worked within the private and public health system, and as part of his university degree spent time working in Bunbury. This has given him a broad range of experiences and diverse clientele.

Bayan won 1st place for the Australian Society of Endodontology International Essay Award and has also received an award in Special Needs Dentistry. He has a keen interest in history, archaeology and anthropology and spends much of his spare time reading about these subjects for which he is passionate.
