Overview
Dr Tammie Wong was born and raised in Perth. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Notre Dame in 2010. She obtained a Bachelors of Biomedical Science and Molecular Biology with Honours before pursuing her career to become a doctor. Her Honours helped her to learn rapidly and she prefers working with people instead of working in a laboratory.
Tammie worked at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Joondalup Hospital and Hollywood Hospital during her training. She realised that General Practice is the perfect path for her as she enjoys the continued therapeutic relationship with patients. She feels privileged to be a part of the Third Avenue Surgery team since the end of 2018.
As a GP in Mount Lawley, Dr Wong is keenly interested in all areas of General Practice, including Chronic Disease Management, Mental Health, Women’s Health and Sexual Health. She is also passionate about Dermatology and is undertaking further training in this field currently. She also holds a fellowship of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).
Other than working at the practice, Tammie’s favourite pastime activities are going for a hike, for a jog and to the beach, as well as enjoying the outdoors. She also loves travelling and food. She is an animal lover and has a few pets as well.
