Overview
Dr Jane Purdie graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Western Australia. She worked at the Royal Perth Hospital for 7 years with the idea of specialising. She decided to switch to General Practice and has not regretted this career change ever since.
Jane became a part of the Third Avenue Surgery team in 1996. In the beginning, she was working part-time along with her practice at Silver Chain Hospice. Now she works as a full-time consultant here.
As a doctor in Mount Lawley, Dr Purdie is passionate about all areas of general practice. Being a female physician, she takes a keen interest in Women’s Health. She is also interested in Paediatrics and Aged Care. She feels privileged to have the opportunity to care for the patients on a long term basis because it allows her to have a better understanding of their issues. She feels honoured to be in a profession that allows her to fulfil people’s health needs.
Since the age of 16, Jane spent all of her spare time playing water polo but now has become interested in golf. She wants to add a camera to her list of interests if she ever gets the opportunity.
