Dr Mark Mellor is a Specialist General Practitioner with an interest in obesity, metabolic health, and chronic disease management. He is the founder of Perth Weight Clinic at Butler Family Practice and provides personalised, evidence-based care to support patients in improving their health, wellbeing, and quality of life.
Mark has extensive experience in obesity and weight management and holds RACGP Recognition of Extended Skills in Obesity Management. He is also SCOPE-certified through the World Obesity Federation and has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Obesity and Weight Management through the University of South Wales.
His clinical interests include obesity and weight management, diabetes, cardiovascular health, fatty liver disease, men's health, preventive medicine, and the management of complex chronic conditions. He believes in taking the time to understand each patient's circumstances and developing practical, sustainable treatment plans tailored to their individual needs.
Mark is the WA Lead for the RACGP Specific Interests Obesity Group and is actively involved in medical education, advocacy, and research aimed at improving access to evidence-based obesity care across Australia.
Patients value his thorough, compassionate, and non-judgemental approach, with consultations focused on long-term health outcomes rather than quick fixes.
Consultation fees reflect the longer appointment times and personalised care provided. Concession card holders may be eligible for bulk billing. Perth Weight Clinic is a private billing service.

***We are a mixed billing practice*** This means there may be a fee for your appointment. Phone our Reception for more details. Photo ID required for all new patients. Standard Appointment $89.50 with a Medicare rebate of $45.05 (GAP $44.45) Note: Higher upfront fees may occur before 8am on weekdays but with a higher rebate the GAP is the same. ***All appointments on Sundays are privately billed including children and concession card holders.*** Weight Management Appointments by Dr Mark Mellor - $345 initial (rebate $128.35) and $195 follow up (rebate $87.10) Masks recommended.
