Dr Maida Akhtar

Dr Maida Akhtar is a General Practitioner with a background in Public Health. She worked as an emergency doctor in a rural and remote location for 6 years and acquired a fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM). She has worked extensively in several locations and her most recent experience is of working at the Jurien Bay General Practice.

Maida obtained her Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Zimbabwe in the year 2000. She has certification from the Australian Medical Council (AMC). She joined us in Albany which gave our patients access to another permanent female doctor.

Dr Akhtar is a renowned doctor in Albany with a special interest in Emergency Medicine, Chronic Disease Management, Paediatrics and Women’s Health. She is highly skilled in Mirena IUD insertion and Implanon insertion and removal.

Dr Maida Akhtar is multilingual and fluent in English as well as Urdu.
