Overview
Dr Li Yan is an experienced family doctor. She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Norman Bethune College of Medicine Jilin University. She gained experience in Women’s Health and Paediatric Health while working as an obstetrician and gynaecologist at a leading teaching hospital in China.
In 2005, Dr Yan relocated to Australia and obtained her certification from the Australian Medical Council (AMC) in 2006. She brings vast experience to Ashby Street Medical Centre in all aspects of Women’s Health which she gained while working internationally, in regional Victoria as well as metropolitan Melbourne.
Li completed her GP training and became a Fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2013. She acquired a Diploma of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (DRANZCOG).
Dr Yan is a renowned doctor in Trafalgar with a special interest in Women’s Health. She provides consultations for Antenatal Care, Contraception advice and Family Planning. She skillfully performs minor surgeries including implanon and IUDs insertion and skin procedures.
Li is well-known for her calming nature. She carefully listens to the patient’s concerns and collaboratively develops a strategy to move forward with their treatment which makes her patients feel truly cared for.
Dr Yan’s favorite pastime activities are swimming, traveling, designing and reading. She is bilingual, and can speak English and Mandarin.
Li has become an expert in all areas of Australian general practice. She loves working as a GP and feels privileged to help people and be part of their life journey.
