Dr Elia Botros (Elijah) is the director of the Diggers Rest Medical Centre. He is the senior Consultant GP holding 3 decades of experience under his belt. He worked in general practise overseas as well as in Australia.
Dr Elia Botros obtained his Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1992. He holds a fellowship of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). He relocated to Australia in 2001 and over the years, he worked in several hospitals in Perth, including Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Joondalup Hospital.
Elia worked for a number of years in the Emergency Department at the Modbury Public Hospital in Adelaide. He spent some time working in Medical Centres in Bendigo and Melbourne. He received the Victorian State Award of the Best Solo Practice in Victoria 2009 while he was running Lowndes Street Clinic in Bendigo. He also received a Certificate of Excellence.
Dr Botros is a highly skilled GP in Diggers Rest with a special interest in General Paediatrics, Men's Health, Mental Health, Internal Medicine, Travel Medicine and Women's Health. He also specialises in Aged Care, Chronic Disease Management and Skin Cancer. He skillfully performs Minor Surgery as well. His patients have described him as an excellent doctor with excellent surgery skills.
Elia is a family man with 2 daughters. His wife Mariam Botros is the Dental Therapist and the Director of Diggers Rest Dental Practice. Other than spending quality time with his family, he enjoys going for a hike and maintaining his garden in his spare time and loves to travel as well.

Billing policy
Consultations privately billed. To continue providing you with high quality care and services, our consultation price will increase $10.00, effective from the 1st January 2026. We have made every effort to keep this increase as minimal as possible Patients under 16 years and aged care pension will be exempt from this except for first visit and Saturday bookings, which will be privately billed. Veteran Affairs exempt. Saturday bookings all privately billed. Call reception for details.
