And it is this multi-faceted approach to the vocation that sets Shakeel apart from other doctors, making him such a well-respected GP.Hailing from Glasgow in Scotland , Shakeel completed his medical degree at Glasgow University in 1988 before achieving a series of postgraduate qualifications such as his MRCGP and Diploma in Occupational Medicine.Fast forward 30 years and he’s managed to fit a great deal into his career, working as a GP in both private and NHS practices in the UK and in Melbourne, Australia. So you could say he’s a generalist in the truest sense of the word!Outside clinic hours, you’ll find him enjoying an eclectic mix of past-times – from spending time with his family and keeping fit, to trawling for vinyl LPs, dabbling with various musical instruments, tinkering away on obscure cars and chatting to elderly Italian tailors. He almost always has a long black coffee within easy reach.
